Pre-wedding Photo Shoot at Stanwick

Pre-wedding photoshoots are a great way for you and your family to get comfortable with me and in front of the camera. As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of shooting in many beautiful locations, but Stanwick in Northamptonshire is one of my favourites (and being so close to home does not come into it at all!) It’s a stunning location with a variety of backdrops to choose from, making it the perfect place for a pre-wedding photo shoot.

Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph a lovely couple, Kirsty & Dan, at Stanwick. They were both so excited about their upcoming wedding which had been postponed for two years since Covid, and it was a joy to capture their love and happiness with their family.

We started the engagement shoot mid-day, which can sometimes be difficult from a photographer’s perspective. But we worked around it by shooting in the shade, starting by finding a spot under a tree. The photos I took of them under the tree, with the lake in the background, are some of my favourites from the shoot.

Next, we headed to the lake. It’s a beautiful setting, with the lake in the background and the trees surrounding it makes for a timeless image.

I had a wonderful day photographing Kirsty & Dan’s engagement shoot at Stanwick. They were both so happy and in good spirits, it was a pleasure to capture their love story.

Here are some tips for planning a Pre-wedding shoot:

• Book your shoot in advance, especially if you’re planning to shoot during peak season (summer).
  
• Arrive early so that you have time to explore the grounds and find your favourite spots.
  
• Be prepared for all types of weather. Stanwick is a beautiful place in all seasons, but it’s important to be prepared for the possibility of rain or wind.
  
• Most importantly, relax and have fun! Your engagement shoot is a celebration of your love, so enjoy the experience.
